Fishing Frenzy Letter
May 2006
Dear Friend,
It’s that time of year again! Our interest in the ministry of Lake Ann Baptist Camp and our enthusiasm for fishing come together in the annual Fishing Frenzy.
On June 2nd and 3rd, Lake Ann Camp will be holding its annual Fishing Frenzy. Our challenge is to work together as a team and catch 1,000 inches of fish. This year, we will be attempting to accomplish our goal in only 8 fishing hours! Right now we are searching for sponsors who will support us for the benefit of the camp as Lake Ann seeks to raise funds which will be used to impact over three thousand campers this summer.
God has blessed the efforts of Lake Ann to get deep into the heart of the next generation for Christ. When we see these things taking place, we get excited about giving our time and energies to advance the cause, and that’s why we are asking you for your partnership. We, of course, are sponsoring ourselves, and are writing to ask you to consider sponsoring us as well. This year, we have a goal of raising $8,000. Sponsorship can be pledged by the inch of fish caught, or as a set amount.
Each year our wives graciously encourage our participation in this event, and over the years we have tried to see that they are rewarded according to how well we do. So:
If we reach our goal of $8,000, we will schedule an entire day get-away with our wives to Schaumburg, Illinois. We’ll shop with them at the Ikea store and the Woodfield Mall. We’ll even be cheerful and carry their shopping bags should they buy things that seem useless to us.
If we do not reach our goal, but raise $6,000, we will schedule an entire day get-away with our wives to Birch Run, Michigan. We’ll shop with them at the Prime Outlet stores. We’ll carry their shopping bags and be good sports for most purchases.
If we raise less than $6,000, but at least $5,000, we will schedule an entire day get-away with our wives to Auburn Hills, Michigan. We’ll shop together at the Great Lakes Crossing Mall, but at least half the time has to be spent at the Bass Pro Shop there. We’ll carry whatever gets purchased.
If we fail to raise $5,000, we will go with our wives to Meijer, and help with the week’s grocery shopping. We’ll push the shopping carts.
So please, even if you won’t sponsor us for our sake or the Camp’s sake, you can sponsor us for Lisa and Brenda’s sake!
We have enclosed a sponsorship pledge card. The card can be returned to either one of us, or sent directly to Lake Ann Camp. It helps greatly if these were mailed by May 31st—but send it in late if you have to. It all counts! One of us will try and call you in the near future to see if there are any questions that we might answer about the event. Thank you for your consideration.
Yours for Christ and Life-Changing Camping,
Dan DeRuischer Dave Lamb
